Sorry – owing money doesn't even come close to being an EXISTENTIAL threat for a country, and really isn't all that much of a danger for the US either except as it drives the government or people to ignore the constitution. That's where the existential danger is.And I've heard this complaining about differential finances before, except then it was Japan that we owed our future to. Haven't heard that so much recently, though.
